My MC has a strong Christian background/values, etc. but due to some tragic events, has set out on a very self-destructive path, angry with God, etc.

I'm struggling with how far to take her rebellion. Does she flirt with a particular line, of completely cross over it?

In either case, her decision would be true to character. If she toes the line but doesn't cross, it's true to her srong faith in God.

If she goes over the line, it's a natural progression of her rebellion, and has the potential for her to experience true grace, and will show that even Christians can make really bad decisions that have really bad consequenses...

I still haven't decided where to go with that.Avily Jeromehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08201659100248261370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275104442398599121.post-27587622156496067492008-11-20T16:57:00.000-06:002008-11-20T16:57:00.000-06:00Avily,You are very right. I will say though that I am sometimes frustrated because so often it seems we see either sinners in need of salvation or saints in white robes, but we don't see saints that most people would consider good with a long way to go.Timothy Fishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06554064732811895577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275104442398599121.post-46879819023859716772008-11-20T13:08:00.000-06:002008-11-20T13:08:00.000-06:00I think there's room for both.As you said, the gen...I think there's room for both.

As you said, the genre is wide open, and I think there are people who will be blessed by different types of stories and different types of scenarios.

For me, I tend to write more like you do, in that I have strong Christian characters who overcome whatever-it-may-be by relying on their faith.

But I think it's also important to show the consequences of sin/disobedience.Avily Jeromehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08201659100248261370noreply@blogger.com
