I understand the idea of making money. I mean we all have bills. But sometimes making money steals away the purpose.<br />For example, I recently saw a commercial featuring Jack Canfield. He was selling his book with tips in it to make better writers. I think it was a 'special rate of $29.99.' My first thought, how demeaning. My second...I will never purchase another Chicken Soup book again because it seemed as if he was taking advantage doing an infomercial!<br />I don't see how anyone can actually mentor so many. And how anyone can continue writing to make a difference in people's lives when he has turned to infomercials to get his name out there. I also wondered how they would have time to offer to mentor so many people. I suppose I didn't go so far as to determine that by mentoring they meant strictly editing.
